Percussion Tea

Published on 10/10/17

The Mansion was rocking on Monday 9 October to the sounds of the Percussion Tea!

The focus of our termly Instrumental Teas is participation and performing experience. This informal performance which took place in the Great Room has the advantage of a small, sympathetic audience, as everyone knows what it is like to be a beginner, and the advanced pupils can provide inspiration for those who have not yet reached as high a standard.

Each pupil was introduced by Mr Spevock, the Claremont Fan Court School drum teacher, who talked about the different syllabuses they are working on. The pupils entertained us by playing their pieces on the drumkit accompanied by backing tracks, introducing us to different drumming styles.

Participating pupils were: Alexander C (Y7), Caspar D (Y9), Ollie H (Y8), Matthew M (Y7), Archie N (Y12), Matthew T (Y8), Jamie T (Y11), Arran W (Y9) and Thomas Y (Y7).

As always with our Instrumental Teas, the afternoon finished with a delicious tea!
