Prep Poetry Competition

Published on 07/11/17

The poetry final was held in the Great Room on Friday 3 November and was another successful and enjoyable event, with a high standard of entries. The theme this year was Freedom, to link with the theme of National Poetry Day. From well known poets such as William Blake and Nelson Mandela to those less well known, it was wonderful to see the breadth of poems that were chosen and each child's very individual interpretation of freedom. All the finalists delivered measured and confident performances and our judging panel, Mrs Zolinsky and Mrs Hutton-Attenborough had a tough decision deciding on the winners. After much deliberation they awarded the following prizes:

Junior Prize winner: William H
Senior Prize Winner: Jacob L
Outstanding Performance: Alex W

Congratulations to all of the winners and all of the finalists and children that entered into this competition.
