The Great Fire of London in Year 1

Published on 05/12/17

Year 1 have been thoroughly enjoying their ‘Going on a Journey’ topic. Children have immersed themselves in what life would have been like for the royals in 1666 and have created menus based on delicacies of that time period including; peacock, boar and dolphin!

Year 1 have also used the 17th century in their art and DT work and over the last few weeks have been creating replica 1666 houses inspired by our learning about the Great Fire of London. To truly replicate the fire, Miss Turton and Mrs Saville set the model houses alight to see what it may have been like. It was great fun!
