Geography Cake Competition
Published on 07/12/17
On Monday 4 December the budding bakers of Claremont Fan Court Senior School donned their aprons for the annual Geography Cake Competition. The bar was certainly raised this year with thoughtful, creative and eye catching entries representing a plethora of geographical landscapes. Peering into a vintage telescope we spun a beautiful globe and travelled from the heights of Mount Everest and Mount Fiji, through cascading waterfalls down to the depths of the Grand Canyon. We visited the far reaches of the poles to witness polar bears, penguins and seal pups, then soaked up some winter sun on tropical islands, watched the waves crash into the White Cliffs of Dover whilst trying to manoeuvre the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing in Tokyo.
The delicious entries were later sold raising £200 for the Salvation Army.
Well done to everyone who entered and thank you to all staff and students who helped sell cakes at break. Please click here to view a photo album of all the entries.
