Rotary Youth Speaks Competition
Published on 17/01/18
On the evening of Tuesday 16 January, Claremont Fan Court School took part in the intermediate Rotary Youth Speaks competition. This is a public speaking event that is designed to support and encourage the development of effective communication skills. In preparation for the event, the Year 8 team worked extremely hard on perfecting their speeches and delivery. The intermediate team eloquently presented on the subject of the gender pay gap. The performances were fantastic and all pupils received high praise from the adjudicators in not only of their handling of the spontaneous question but also their overall charisma.
I am very proud of Matthew T and James K who were commended for their roles but also Rishi B who won overall ‘Best Chairperson’ in the Rotary Youth Speaks competition. I am very pleased with the support offered by Chloe S in not only the preparation towards the debate but also supporting her team on the evening of the event. Well done!
