Guitar Tea

Published on 07/02/18

Our termly Instrumental Tea took place in the Great Room after school, featuring on this occasion the guitar.  This informal concert has the advantage of a small, sympathetic audience, as everyone knows what it is like to be a beginner, and the advanced students can provide inspiration for those who have not yet reached as high a standard.

Our guitar teacher, Mr Dunning, runs a number of lunchtime ensembles and Rock Bands. The concert started with his ensembles playing some delightful classical guitar pieces, followed by a rock piece played by the Rock Band, including full drum kit.  We were then treated to individual solo performances by both Prep School and Senior School pupils in different styles on both acoustic and electric guitars.

The enjoyable afternoon culminated with a delicious tea served in the Great Room.

Participating students were: Lauren B (Y7), Conall C (Y5), Margo C (Y7), Caspar D (Y9), Jay D (Y6), Grace E (Y7), Lydia E (Y8), Jessica F (Y9), Nathan F (Y11), Ethan G (Y5), Jack H (Y5), Isaac M (Y8), Max M (Y7), Dimash S (Y11), Oliver T (Y9) and Luca W (Y6).
