Orienteering at Swinley Forest

Published on 17/02/18

Swinley Forest in Berkshire was bathed in glorious sunshine for three members of the Claremont Fan Court School orienteering squad during the February half term. Although slightly soft and muddy in places, three days without rain meant that the ground in the forest was reasonably firm and fast times were possible, provided runners chose their routes carefully and avoided the worst of the bracken.

On the Orange course Joe B had another good run, coming 26th in 36:23, but he couldn’t quite match the speed of Jack P, who finished 10th in 28:57. On only his second Short Blue course, Alexander O navigated steadily and was pleased with his 35th place in a time of 75:15.
