Y4 Egyptian Day
Published on 02/05/18
Year 4 pupils have kicked off the summer term in style with the launch of a new topic: Ancient Egypt. On Monday 30 April, Year 4 arrived to School in full costume for an Egyptian day workshop with a visitor, taking the children back in time to life in Ancient Egypt.
The day started with an introduction to the historical era learning about Egyptian Gods and how the Pharaohs of the land came to be. Children then went on a journey, discovering the opening of Tutankhamun’s tomb. The children loved hearing about the many wondrous artefacts that were discovered in the tomb and the many myths and stories. In the afternoon, the children learnt all about the mummification process and ended the day with a hunting trip down the Nile.
All of the children looked amazing in their Egyptian costumes. It was a fantastic day and one the children will remember for years to come.
