Year 6 Residential Trip to Normandy
Published on 17/05/18
Year 6 participated in a French immersion residential trip at the Château de la Baudonnière in Normandy, France. Our adventurers took part in a range of outdoor activities such as escalade (climbing), parcours de santé (muddy assault course), fabrication du pain (French bread making), orientation (orienteering), canoë (canoeing) and radeaux (rafting). We also sampled the local culture with excursions to the mysterious Mont St Michel and Bayeux, where we shopped at the outdoor market and visited the fascinating Bayeux Tapestry. Most importantly children were given the opportunity to communicate in French as all activities including lunch were conducted exclusively in French. It was impressive to see how they adapted to a new culture and different language with such enthusiasm. Merci at au revoir.
