Senior Rotary Youth Speaks Competition

Published on 04/12/18

On Tuesday 27 November, Claremont Fan Court School took part in the Senior Rotary Youth Speaks competition at the Holiday Inn hotel, Kingston.  This is a public speaking event that is designed to support and encourage the development of effective communication skills. In preparation for the event, the Year 9 team worked extremely hard in perfecting their speeches and delivery. The team eloquently presented on the subject of ‘The addictive taste of cake!’ The performances were fantastic and all pupils received high praise from the adjudicators not only of their handling of the spontaneous question but also their overall charisma.

We are very proud of Rishi B and Cameron T who were commended on their roles but also Matthew T who won overall ‘Best Chairperson’ in the Senior Rotary Youth Speaks competition. We are very pleased with the support offered by Jessica C in supporting her team on the evening of the event.

The Year 9 team faced tough competition and were up against Sixth Form students but still managed to deliver a wonderful performance. Well done!
