Real Tennis with HRH Prince Edward

Published on 05/12/18

Lower Sixth student, James S, alongside Year 11 pupil, Ross M, were given the opportunity to play real tennis with HRH Prince Edward on 29 November as part of his global Real Tennis Challenge. James talks of his experience below:

"HRH Prince Edward took on the challenge of visiting all 50 of the real tennis courts around the world as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award to encourage more people to play this unique sport. The tour of all the courts finished at the Royal Tennis Court at Hampton Court, where I am a member and play regularly. The junior members were invited to play with him and also watch him play with Tim Henman and Johanna Konta, as well as the world number one players from the sport. Ross M and I really enjoyed the day, chatting with HRH over lunch and playing tennis with him."
