Year 9 Art Exhibition
Published on 31/01/19
On Wednesday 23 January, the Art and Photography Department put on a Year 9 Art Celebration Evening. Every pupil in Year 9 contributed a piece of work to the exhibition, filling the main art room in the basement with a colourful array of drawings, prints, sculptures and edited photographs completed during the Autumn Term. Pupils had been working from the theme ’Cakes and Pop Art’, inspired by the artists Wayne Thiebaud, Claes Oldenburg and Andy Warhol.
The evening was a great success, with a good number of parents and pupils attending. A Year 11 pupil was present to show a selection of GCSE work and to discuss Art GCSE as an option for Year 9 pupils to take next year.
