U11A Surrey County Netball

Published on 14/02/19

On Wednesday 13  February the U11A netball team travelled away to Guildford High School for the Surrey County Netball Tournament. The girls played some fantastic netball, transitioning the ball seamlessly through the court, and putting their opposition under great pressure in defence.

Following a slow start filled with nerves and apprehension, we had a narrow defeat of 4-2 to Cranleigh. After a comprehensive and effective team talk, the girls came back fighting with fire in their bellies and the desire to win. In both the GHS and Tormead game, the girls were up at half time but unfortunately, could not hold on to the win.

The girls pulled together as a team and demonstrated real resilience in their final match against St Catherine’s. Following an end to end first half the score was 4-4. The defence worked tirelessly to turn over ball and make interceptions through court, however, a few mistakes in attack lead to a 7-6 loss.

Congratulations to all the girls  who participated in a fantastic tournament.
