Assistant Head (Head of Sixth Form)

Claremont Fan Court School seeks to appoint an Assistant Head (Head of Sixth Form) for September 2019 to develop the vision for, and strategic direction of, the Sixth Form. You will be joining as the Sixth Form moves to a more central location within the school and at a time of great potential for change.

The successful applicant will have a strong academic and pastoral record, the ability to lead, be capable of building good working relationships as well as be an active, committed and caring teacher. You will have an up to date knowledge of academic and pastoral issues pertinent to post-16 education.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate sound pastoral instincts and an effective and inspiring teaching style. You will lead the pastoral work of a group of experienced and committed form tutors and take whole school responsibility within the senior management team for the Sixth Form and its development.

This opportunity will suit an experienced middle leader aspiring to greater responsibility. It is expected that the Head of Sixth Form will promote, take an interest in and attend events involving Sixth Form pupils, including day and residential trips.
