As a gently selective school, which places children at the centre of our thinking, we aim to offer an admissions process which helps you and your child to feel confident that you have found your best fit school.

We welcome enquiries at any time and, where places are available, will consider applications for entry within the current year as well as, more typically, for the next academic year. A small number of spaces are available for entry into Year 3 and 5 at the start of each academic year; early application for these places is advisable.

The Prep School expands from two classes to three in Year 4, which also makes this a good point of entry. Places for Year 6 are rarely available and often subject to a waiting list.

Mrs Claire Williams is your point of contact for admissions into our Prep School and she is available to answer your initial enquiries at admissions@claremont.surrey.sch.uk or on 01372 473 794. Alternatively, you can fill in an initial enquiry form by clicking here.

Please note that we are no longer accepting applications for entry in September 2022.

Our simple four-step process for admissions into our Prep School is as follows:

1. Arrange a visit

All prospective families are warmly invited to attend an open morning. To get a true sense of life at Claremont, tours are led by our own pupils, followed by a talk and Q&A with head of the Prep School, Mrs Helen Hutton-Attenborough.

2. Application form

If you would like to proceed an application after your initial visit, we kindly ask that an online application form is completed, supported by a recent school report and a £100 non-refundable registration fee. Please click below to fill out the application form.

3. Attend an admissions visit

Following receipt of the application form and registration fee, your child will be invited to attend a taster and assessment day. This consists of time spent getting to know potential new friends in class and at play as well as tests in English and mathematics conducted in a supportive environment.

4. Receive an offer

Mrs Helen Hutton-Attenborough or a member of our admissions team will be in touch shortly after your admissions visit to confirm if we are in a position to offer a place or waiting list place. Should an offer of a place be made, families will have up to three weeks to complete the relevant paperwork and pay the £800 deposit in order to secure the place.

Please note, all new joiners for a September start are warmly invited to a settling in event in the summer term in order to meet classmates, teachers and for parents to meet our PTA.
