House Music Competition 2017
Published on 20/03/17
A fantastic celebration of musical talent was enjoyed at the Grand Finale concert in the Great Room, marking the culmination of the Senior School House Music Competition which had taken place during the day!
The morning got off to a rousing start with Drums/Percussion being the first section to open the proceedings! Throughout the day, the Music School was buzzing as students came and went to perform in their various sections or practise in the practice rooms.
For the fourth year running, Radnor triumphed with an overall impressive score of 166 marks! This was very closely followed by Esher with 161. Longcross came third with 104 marks, followed by Norwood with 55. The standard was exceptionally high this year and in some sections, competition was particularly close. All contestants came away with very positive comments from Mrs Marr, our external adjudicator.
The overall winners of each musical section returned to the Great Room in the evening for a most enjoyable Grand Finale concert in front of parents and staff and to be presented with trophies by Mrs Marr.
Congratulations to all who participated and to all the winners and runners-up.
Thank you to Mr Affonso and the Heads of Houses for organising such a fun event and, of course, to Mrs Marr for adjudicating.
