Sixth Form National Theatre Trip
Published on 21/09/17
On Thursday 14 September A Level drama students enjoyed their annual 'drama marathon' to The National Theatre on Southbank, London. The day started with a fantastic backstage tour of the venue. Following a short stop for lunch, students watched Oslo, the Broadway hit about secret peace talks between the PLO and Israel negotiated by a Norwegian couple. It was a three hour, gripping and sometimes hilarious play. In the evening students were then thrilled by the newly revived Sondheim hit, Follies, which opened two weeks before to rave reviews.
It was a fabulous day/evening seeing the enormity of the National Theatre and watching two very different genres of theatre. "What a wonderful start to our A Level drama course, I can’t wait to do it again next year." commented one of our Upper Sixth students.
