Year 3 Roman Day

Published on 27/11/17

Year 3 were fortunate to have a Roman soldier visit the Prep School on Friday 24 November for the day. The children were excited and had made a great effort with their Roman costumes.

Pupils learnt about the Roman invasion, including what a soldier would wear in battle - picking up some new Latin words along the way. In the afternoon the children learnt how to defend themselves against attack using Roman shields and also got the opportunity to look at artefacts including the Roman equivalent of an Xbox which was a whistle, coins and pottery!
