Wisley Common Orienteering

Published on 11/12/17

Wisley Common was the venue for the last Junior League event of 2017 on Saturday, where the Claremont Fan Court School Orienteering Squad attempted to move up to third place in the league. Wisley can be extremely wet underfoot after heavy rain, but on this occasion the ground was firm and the runners were able to concentrate on their navigation rather than on keeping their feet dry.

Joe B came 14th on the Orange course in 40:45, by far his fastest time this year. Nathan J also had a good run, coming 29th on the Light Green course in 66:48, but was pipped by Alex O, who was 26th in 62:43. Despite their efforts, however, they could not close the gap between them and the top three teams, who all fielded at least twice as many runners, and remain in fourth place.
