Food Preparation and Nutrition

Year 11 pupils studying GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition have completed their 3 hour practical exam. They were required to cook three dishes showcasing produce from a specific region of a chosen country. All pupils demonstrated their high level of practical skills, portioning whole chickens, filleting fish, making bread, jam, pastry, ice cream and pasta, whilst also ensuring all dishes were presented to a high standard.

This group of pupils are among the cohort nationally, who are completing this exciting new GCSE course for the first time. They have enjoyed many fabulous experiences throughout their two year course such as making cheese, sausages, visits from Chinese chefs and fishmongers and a food tasting tour of London.
