Sixth Form London Theatre Trip
Published on 26/09/18
On Thursday 13 September, the Sixth Form drama students enjoyed their annual theatre trip to London. The day began with a fascinating tour around the National Theatre exploring the set, props and backstage areas, and the Olivia and Dorfman Theatres. After lunch, students watched the immersive, agitprop performance The Jungle at The Playhouse Theatre. This play is set in an Afghan cafe located in the migrant camp in Calais known as The Jungle. Stories and memories from those who lived in the camp were shared and performed as part of a very emotional and poignant performance. Finally, students went on to watch Chicago which explored a very different genre of theatre. Every student loved the experience and all came back to inspired and full of creative ideas.
