Ripley Court Cross Country Challenge
Published on 09/10/18
Monday 8 October saw the annual Ripley Court Cross Country Challenge take place. Claremont Fan Court Prep School entered teams into each of the age categories and had a bus full of excited children. After a brief course familiarisation lap the children could feel the nerves building up to the start of their races. The U9 girls team were first to compete and worked hard to build their speed throughout the race, with Abigail F finishing top from Claremont (22nd). The U9 boys went next and proceeded to work hard from the gun, George C collected a bronze medal for his effort. The distance increased for the U11 races and the need for good pacing was excellently demonstrated by the U11 girls, who all finished in the top 20 (Sophia S in 6th place). The U11 boys finished off the afternoon, where a fast finishing Rohan B finished immediately behind Karim Z. (16th and 15th respectively). Praise must also go to the U13 Senior School team who all placed highly in the competition, with Tom W winning the race and the team prize for the second year in a row!
