Year 10 Support the Boomerang Bag Initiative
Published on 05/11/18
During Textile Club, Year 10 pupils have been busy making Boomerang Bags in support of a Claygate group who are encouraging people to create sewn fabric bags in an effort to reduce plastic waste. The bags are given to local shops to distribute to shoppers as an alternative to plastic bags. With hundreds of boomerang bags now in circulation, it's fantastic to see the project growing and making a difference.
Participation in this project helps pupils achieve their Service Award as part of the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Year 10 pupils are pleased to be supporting the local community and have to date, completed 20 bags ready for distribution.
