Year 6 Visit Kingston Mosque
Published on 06/11/18
On Wednesday 31 October, Year 6 visited Kingston Mosque as part of their Religious Studies work on Islam. The morning included an introduction to prayer and the main beliefs of Muslims. Pupils were able to ask questions and become familiar with artefacts used in worship. Following this, Year 6 visited the ablutions room to deepen their understanding of the washing ritual that Muslims have before they pray. Our final talk of the day was about the five pillars of Islam and a chance to learn about the most significant mosques around the world. The morning at Kingston Mosque was an enriching experience for all and has, without doubt, brought the topic to life for the pupils.
