Prep and Senior Singing Tea
Published on 03/12/18
It was wonderful to escape the wet, windy weather on Wednesday 28 November to attend the Singing Tea held in the Great Room. A number of Senior and Prep School students performed in front of parents and pupils in the latest of our Instrumental Teas, this time featuring vocal performances.
The focus of the Instrumental Tea is participation. This informal performance has the advantage of a sympathetic and supportive audience as everyone knows what it is like to be a beginner, and the advanced students can provide inspiration for those who have not yet reached as high a standard.
We were treated to some very moving performances which included a wide range of music, from popular songs from films and musicals to ballads from the pop world. On this occasion, we were joined by the Prep School Chamber choir who sang a couple of delightful pieces. Their rendition of Little Road to Bethlehem was recorded for a schools’ carol competition for Eagle Radio. Winning recordings will be broadcast over the Christmas period and we wish them well!
Many thanks to all those involved in this event for a very enjoyable afternoon.
