National Schools Lacrosse Championships

This year’s National School’s Lacrosse Championships brought all lacrosse playing schools to Aldershot sports complex to showcase the finest players and teams in the country.
In one of our best ever performances the U18s made it through to the 1st division. After a hard fought day with difficult weather conditions the girls played extremely well. The girls managed to settle their nerves in the first match against Kings Canterbury, beating them convincingly 8-1. In the following match, crucial in order to qualify for division 1, the girls finished 3-2 and went on to beat St Albans High School too. The girls narrowly missed out to Withington 6-5, remaining beaten by Benenden, but their hard work, determination and resilience paid off with the girls achieving their team goal of making division 1. A fantastic effort for the girls and Claremont Fan Court School.
U14 and U15 Tournament
Both the U14s and U15s also had competitive competitions despite being placed in tough groups. The U14s were able to beat Bedford High which proved to be a real highlight to their season, also beating the likes of St Alban’s High School. Unfortunately it was not enough to progress through to the latter stages of the competition, but the experience will prove beneficial to their overall development.
"We have managed to achieve a great set of results this year at the national schools tournament and achieved results which the PE department are very proud of. Our lacrosse at Claremont is continuing to grow and develop, and next year we are hoping to introduce more teams to the programme demonstrating the depth and strength of lacrosse at Claremont.”
