String Tea

Published on 08/03/19

On Thursday 7 March, the Music School played host in the Great Room to pupils from the Prep and Senior Schools and families for the latest in our series of informal Instrumental Tea concerts. On this occasion, it was the turn of the string family of instruments, with pupils performing on both the cello and the violin.

The focus of the Instrumental Tea is participation. This informal performance has the advantage of a sympathetic and supportive audience, as everyone knows what it is like to be a beginner, and the advanced pupils can provide inspiration for those who have not yet reached as high a standard.

We were treated to some delightful, confident performances from a cross section of ages and levels, the repertoire ranging from classical to traditional pieces.  The afternoon finished with a delicious tea of cakes and biscuits.

Thank you to all for a very enjoyable time.
