Year 10 Dior and Mary Quant Textile Design Trip
Published on 12/06/19
Year 10 Textile Design pupils visited the V&A museum to see the Christian Dior Designer of Dreams exhibition. The pupils really enjoyed the exhibition with 200 designs from 1947 to the present day, tracing the history and impact of one of the 20th century's most influential couturiers, exploring the enduring influence of the fashion house. It included a range of contemporary designers that have designed for the house of Dior since the 1940s.
The Mary Quant exhibition provided an interesting contrast displaying the clothing and accessories designed and produced by Mary Quant in the sixties and seventies. Mary Quant launched a fashion revolution on the British high street in the sixties and made fashionable clothes available to everyone. The exhibitions provided the pupils with wonderful inspiration and exciting new ideas to develop further in their portfolio work.
