Year 5 CSI workshop

Published on 17/09/19

On Tuesday 17 September, Year 5 were visited by the Detective Project to develop their investigation and teamwork skills. In groups, pupils were asked to collect evidence and put forward their theory of what occurred at the crime scene. They also learned about the role of a real CSI in solving crimes; this included learning how to bag evidence, brush for fingerprints and interview eye witnesses. It was fantastic to see Year 5 embrace the opportunity to work together and learn new things about this interesting area of science. It has been a wonderful way to start the academic year and we feel that it has helped the cohort to develop their collaborative skills and scientific knowledge while making new friends across the year group.
