Year 2 visit the British Wildlife Centre
Published on 12/11/19
On Monday 11 November, Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful day at the British Wildlife Centre. With the sun shining, the children had the opportunity to meet lots of wild animals that visit or live in our gardens and countryside. They also learnt about what the animals eat and what time of day they might be able to see them. The children were excited to be so close to animals that usually hide away from humans or who only come out past their bedtime, including foxes, owls, badgers and even a hibernating hedgehog. A particular highlight for many was watching the playful weasel, whilst others delighted in seeing one of the few Scottish wildcats left in the UK. Their enthusiasm for learning about how they can help the wild animals in our countryside suggests we may have some future conservationists among us.
