Piano tea

Published on 12/03/20

A delightful afternoon was had at our latest informal musical tea on Wednesday 11 March, with performances from twelve very talented pianists across the Prep and Senior School. The Great Room, where historically composers such as Chopin and Offenbach once performed, proved an apt and beautiful setting for our musicians.

The focus of our instrumental teas is participation and as such, our pupils represented a range of abilities and played to a small, supportive audience of parents and siblings. Everyone knows what it is like to be a beginner and the more advanced students can provide inspiration for those who have not yet reached as high a standard.

The event was followed by a delicious tea with cakes and biscuits. Many thanks to all those involved in a very enjoyable afternoon and special thanks to our peripatetic teachers who have given our pupils such confidence.

Participating pupils were:

  • Sophie S (Year 6)
  • Stefan I (Year 4)
  • Eleanore G-F (Year 6)
  • Aylin A (Year 6)
  • Piers L (Year 8)
  • Daisy G (Year 5)
  • Lilly S (Year 4)
  • Victor I (Year 6)
  • Lucy J (Year 6)
