Year 2 Roald Dahl project
Published on 28/04/20
At the end of last term, Year 2 started reading ‘The Twits’ as our class text which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Those pesky Twits really made us all laugh reading about all their antics! The children were tasked to carry out their own independent research from home about Roald Dahl and his stories, choosing to present their work creatively any way they liked.
Their finished projects were wonderfully imaginative with some incredibly inventive ideas. Teachers were wowed by everything from poems about the author's life to giant book covers, posters and homemade 3D models of Roald Dahl's house and James's peach. We even saw a model of Mr Twit's beard made from gruesome materials!
The children clearly put so much hard work into their ideas despite having to work from home. Our Roald Dahl theme continues into the summer term as Year 2 begin reading ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ together and we hope this inspires the children to keep reading plenty more of Roald Dahl’s classic and much-loved tales.
