Community marathon relay raises over £3000 for NHS charities

We have been delighted to hear about how our pupils have been getting involved in various local community fundraising initiatives during lockdown, raising funds for charities providing fantastic support to those impacted by the coronavirus.
On Sunday 26 April, the day in which many would have been running the London Marathon, Year 4 pupil, Sasha W-L, joined 71 of her neighbours in a marathon relay for NHS Together charities. Complying with social distancing throughout, runners each took turns to run loops of the neighbourhood, cheered on by residents in their driveways and front gardens. A whopping 557 laps were completed, amounting to an amazing 150 miles in total (the equivalent of 5 and a half marathons) with over £3,000 raised! A fantastic achievement.
A huge well done to all involved and another brilliant example of community spirit shining through during times of hardship.
