Homemade scrub bags for the NHS

Published on 04/05/20

Senior School textiles technician, Mrs Kidd, has been busy putting her wonderful sewing skills to fantastic use during lockdown; producing over 150 shoe bags, scrub bags and headbands for staff working at the St George’s hospital COVID-19 intensive care unit. Each of the items are made from recycled textiles such as old duvet covers donated by neighbours. Mrs Kidd has also now begun a production line of colourful face masks for friends and family using old t-shirts to make the elastic ties. Well done Mrs Kidd - a brilliant way to support both the NHS and the local community!
