The sixth form are two essential and exciting years where students bridge the gap between school and adulthood. Here at Claremont Fan Court School our students are able to achieve this within a supportive yet challenging environment.
We work hard to prepare our students for success in their A levels by providing a diverse curriculum to cover a wide range of interests and talents. We aim to achieve academic excellence and the opportunity for students to secure a place at their first choice university.
Claremont Fan Court School offers smaller classes where you have the chance to work more closely with teachers and fellow students, which is important preparation for university life.
Working alongside our enthusiastic and subject-qualified teachers, you will be stretched and challenged to think more creatively and deeply about the subjects you choose to study. You will be a member of this sixth form, all of whom are aiming high in their studies and enjoying the camaraderie of a friendly and supportive two-year group. With an exciting new common room, sixth form life is vibrant and stimulating.
Being a sixth former at Claremont Fan Court means you still have the structure of a school day to help you manage your work and study periods. Your progress will be monitored each half term and if you are on track then you can earn the right to leave school earlier or arrive later on certain days. Sixth formers are role models to the younger years and there are leadership opportunities such as becoming a prefect or even a head student. You can also be part of a thriving co-curricular programme with opportunities to compete in senior sports teams, take lead roles in artistic disciplines and enjoy or lead other clubs and activities including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and Young Enterprise. Field trips and excursions are key to our sixth form experience; recent trips have included Geneva, New York, skiing in Europe and a planned trip to Norway next year.
