Thank you for considering Claremont Fan Court School.

We are one of very few schools that offer education at almost every age, and every stage. From exploring forest school at 2 ½ to preparing for university and careers at 18, Claremont offers something for everyone.

As a gently selective school, we assess every pupil applying for a place with us. We are not an academic hothouse – we are looking for potential. At Claremont we’re not just looking to maintain our excellent results record and satisfy a league table, we want to foster potential in our pupils wherever it lies.

One of our big strengths is the breadth of experience on offer here, and our excellent pastoral support. We firmly believe that when children are happy, supported and keen to be at school, results will follow – so that’s what we pursue for every single child. Our results bear the fruit of this, and our pupils are known for their kindness, politeness and ‘can-do’ attitude.

Entry points

Our main entry points for joining the school are:

  • Pre-Preparatory and Nursery: Pre-Nursery (age 2 ½) and Reception (age 4)
  • Preparatory School – Year 3 (age 7) and Year 5 (age 9)
  • Senior School – Year 7 (age 11) and Year 9 (age 13)
  • Sixth Form – Year 12 (age 16)

However, we will also consider and do accept applications for other year groups, subject to a place becoming available.

The best way to get to know our school is by visiting us, either virtually or in person. Due to COVID-19, we have altered our process to adhere to government guidelines and ensure the safety of our pupils, staff and visitors. For full information, visit our open events and visits page.

If you already have a good idea of the school and would like to formally begin the application process, please visit our how to apply page and fill out an application form along with payment of the £100 non-refundable registration fee.

We will then be in contact with you directly to arrange an assessment for your child at a time appropriate to their proposed year of entry.

If you would like more general information about our school, including printed materials, or have any specific queries, please complete our enquiry form. Alternatively, please contact our head of admissions, Mrs Welford on 01372 473780.

Every evening when we pick our daughter up she has a smile on her face and is full of tales of her day. She loves her class, her surroundings, her lessons and her teachers. Most importantly for us she is thriving at school. As parents we could not be happier with the choice we made.
