The Year 10 Textile design students visited ‘New Designers showcase’ and ‘150 years of the Royal School of Needlework: Crown to Catwalk’.

On the 1 July Year 10 Textile design students visited ‘New Designers’ at the Business Design Centre in Islington and ‘150 years of the Royal School of Needlework: Crown to Catwalk’ at the Fashion and Textile Museum.  ‘New Designers’ showcased the work of the country’s finest graduate design students from 200 flagship university design courses in fashion, jewellery, textile and costume design courses. The showcase provided great inspirational ideas as the students were able to take photographs and talk to the graduates and ask them about how they created their work. ‘150 years of the Royal School of Needlework: Crown to catwalk’ at the Fashion and Textile Museum explored both historical and contemporary hand embroidery.
