On Wednesday 7 December, Claremont Fan Court Senior School wrapped up warm and walked to Christ Church in Esher for their annual Christmas carol service.

Pupils joined together to sing carols such as ‘Once in Royal David’s City’, ‘While Shepherds Watched’, ‘Hark the Herald’, ‘O Come all ye faithful’ and ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ accompanied by our fantastic orchestra.

The orchestra also performed ‘Pastorale from the Christmas Concerto by Arcangello Corelli’ and ‘The Christmas Extravaganza by Tony M’.

More songs were beautifully sung by our choir. They performed ‘The Huron Carol by St. Jean de Breubeauf arr: A. Affonso’ and ‘The Prince of Peace by A.R.Affonso’.

Our soloists did an incredible job performing various pieces so spread the Christmas cheer. Alfie S and Jordan A performed ‘Noel nouvelet – Traditional arr: J. Rutter’, Rishi B sang ‘Christmas Lullaby’ by B.Streisand and Phoebe T played ‘Angelus by Renie’ on the harp.

It was lovely to hear some readings interspersed between these carols and musical performances. Well done to all of our performers and readers who made this carol service so special.

The pupils got to enjoy some delicious chocolate brownies when they returned to school which was the perfect end to a very festive morning!
