A level textile design students visited the ‘Africa Fashion’ exhibition at the V&A last week. On display was fashion from the mid twentieth century to contemporary creatives working now through photography, textiles, music and the visual arts. ‘The Africa Fashion’ explores the global impact of the fashion scene and provided students with a wealth of ideas.

Students then went on to visit the Fashion and Textile Museum to see ‘Kaffe Fassett; the Power of Pattern’. On display was an impressive range of his quilting, textile design, painting and drawings as well work for international quilters. The trip provided students with a wide range of inspirational design work for their personal investigation.
