Congratulations to Gabriel R for achieving his lifelong dream of playing rugby at Twickenham stadium in front of 4,000 people! The National Clubs Tournament includes all non-professional rugby clubs and was held at Twickenham earlier this month. The final was between Teddington RFC and Wensleydale. RFC. Gabriel scored a great try in the quarterfinals, and two great tries in the semi-finals.
Well done to Alec W in Year 10 for his recent rowing achievements at a national event held in Nottingham.
Alec rows for the Walton Rowing Club in his free time. We are so pleased to hear that he qualified and was selected to represent the “Thames London” region at the national Junior Inter-Regional Regatta (JIRR) on 22 April in Nottingham (National Water Sports Centre). This is where the twelve regional teams then competed against each other over a racecourse of 1000 m to be crowned the best region in Britain for the respective age groups.
Alec was selected to cox not only his year, the J15 in the coxed fours, but also the J16 fours squad in the morning. Both teams had done well in the qualifiers and qualified for the A-Finals. In both final races, his respective boats came sixth place!
Congratulations to the following pupils, who have been selected to represent North East Surrey at the forthcoming Surrey Schools athletics championships at Kingsmeadow track in Kingston.
