Welcome to IN at Claremont: Nursery to Sixth Form

At Claremont, we are proud to be an inclusive mainstream school offering a nurturing, individualised approach to supporting pupils with a wide range of needs from early years through to sixth form.

Our Individual Needs Departments works across the whole school to ensure that pupils are supported academically, socially and emotionally, enabling them to thrive within a stimulating, aspirational learning environment.

In keeping with the school’s ethos, our provision is grounded in high-quality teaching, strong relationships and a commitment to knowing every child as an individual.

The wellbeing support at the school is just so amazing. We’ve got an in-house department and counsellors on site.

Student, year 13

Inclusion at Claremont is embedded in everyday practice.

  • High-quality teaching and learning within the classroom is the first and most important level of support
  • Pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and self‑awareness
  • Support is responsive, flexible and developmentally appropriate
  • Provision evolves as pupils move through the school, reflecting changing needs and increasing independence

Our IN teams work closely with teaching staff, pastoral colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure pupils experience consistency and continuity throughout their school journey.
