Lighting technician - Royal Opera House
Lauren is a Lighting Technician at the Royal Opera House. She began to explore her passion for theatre in the London Fringe scene, working on various projects including The Greater Game, starring James Phelps (Harry Potter), Michael Greco (Eastenders), and Scott Kyle (Outlander) in collaboration with FIFA for the Armistice Day Centenary. She also became Technical Director for Found In Translation Theatre Company, helping them bring their Aristophanic styled Brexit comedy to the Edinburgh
Fringe Festival. At the Royal Opera House she has worked on recent adaptations of Aida, and Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci, as well as working over the festive period to put on The Nutcracker. She is currently working to bring a reimagining of Rusalka to the stage. Her job involves knowledge of top of the line lighting equipment, ability to read and deliver on lighting documents, and assisting designers in implementing their artistic vision.
Janek has a 1st class architecture degree and an MA from the Royal College of Art [RCA portfolio prize], he is now an international award winning artist [Paul Hamlyn Award], inventor [Guinness Book of Records], musician [British Composer of the Year in Sonic Art, with over 30 albums], visiting professor, and popular all ages entertainer [UK Best Mobile DJ Award]. Janek also assists individuals and businesses seeking creative solutions. Janek has lectured, exhibited, and performed at venues in 30 countries including Tate Modern, Sydney Opera House and Princeton University.
