Take me to:
What is Claremont 100?
In September 2022 we began our centenary year and Claremont Fan Court School set out to cement and celebrate our place in the local community.
We began the challenge to raise around £100,000 to support 5 local charities which have been nominated by pupils and staff across the whole school. The charities for 2022 to 2024 are:
- East Elmbridge Foodbank
- Grace Dear Trust
- Momentum Children’s Charity
- Rentstart
- Shooting Stars Childrens’ Hospices
There have already been many fundraising events, from smaller events such as bake sales to bigger events such as 5K runs and a community Gala Day.
We have been working hard to raise money for these charities but we will also be working with them in many different guises to support their work within the local community and truly challenging our pupils to volunteer their time to support these fantastic charities. To date we have already raised £60,334 of our £100,000 goal. The charities we are supporting have already been putting some of the funds we donated to good use. The East Elmbridge food bank has been able to assemble food hampers and cover one to one support as well as wellbeing groups. Shooting Star Trust is using the monetary donation to provide heating for their hydrotherapy pool and running the dedicated Family Support Line. Momentum is using the donation towards funding their Family Support Workers and their ever increasing demand in the local community. And Rentstart has been able to provide more intensive support packages to a multitude of vulnerable people throughout our community.
