The tests will conclude at 4:15pm. We will bring your child back to the top car park to meet you.
All students will sit the CAT4 Grade G, GL assessment tests. CAT4 tests assess the ability to reason with and manipulate different types of material, including:
The online CAT4 tests are broken into 3 parts. Each part is 40 minutes long.
CAT4 is a timed assessment and additional time is not permitted for SEND or IN as this will affect the reliability of the results. CAT4 is not just about what and how it tests but how the questions are answered within a set timeframe. The timed element makes it diagnostically very powerful. Other accommodations can be made for students with SEND or IN, please contact the admissions department for further information on this.
Further information for parents and students regarding CAT4 tests is available from the GL assessment website, click here for further information. We strongly advise against any kind of practice ahead of a CAT4 test as this will alter the reliability of test scores. The point of CAT4 is that it is not a test of learnt knowledge but of potential and it needs to be as unaffected as possible by any external factors, such as practice. Think of it like an eye test; if you practice ahead of an eye test and memorise the card, your diagnosis may not be correct and valuable information may be missed.
Please find your child’s interview time slot in the body of the email.

Students will be interviewed for approximately 20 minutes with a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The interview plays an important part in the assessment of students, particularly those wanting to study creative subjects such as textiles, DT, art and photography.
