Many congratulations to our brilliant upper sixth leavers who celebrated stellar A level results on Tuesday 10 August. At the time of writing, every student has been accepted into their first or reserve choice university.

With 60% of entries graded A or above and 86% graded B or higher, our successful sixth form leavers have every reason to smile with the dividends of their effort, having endured the toughest of A level journeys.

Their teachers have been unashamedly scrupulous with the assessment grades they recommended, and there is no doubting these results have been achieved through determined hard work across the two years.

William Brierly, headmaster, commented:

I am tremendously proud of our upper sixth for these excellent results. While the media may talk about grade inflation, our pupils’ results simply reflect their sustained effort and determination; even in their lower sixth year our students showed recognition of the need to work earlier and harder.
