To ensure pupils remained safely within their year group bubbles, Claremont Fan Court School’s annual remembrance service took on a rather different form this year. On Wednesday 11 November, pupils and staff watched a specially recorded virtual service from their respective classrooms, which began with a vocal performance by Aida R, an address from headmaster, Mr William Brierly, and the laying of the wreath on the mansion steps by head students, Olly W and Gabby L. A two minute silence was then observed, at the end of which sounded by The Last Post. Through green screen technology, Hannah W, Jagger D-C and Helena I delivered their own emotive readings alongside some wonderful and moving musical performances by Jess F, Isabel J, Lara W, Rishi B and Callum B.

The Prep and Pre-Prep and Nursery School children also marked the occasion with a 2 minute silence at the 11th hour.

We thank all those involved in preparing such a respectful and poignant remembrance service, despite the restrictions, as we continue to remember all those who have given their lives during wars, both past and present. Lest we forget.
