On Friday 18 March, Year 12 Politics students participated in an incredibly interesting talk with Green Councillor Jonathan Essex.  The Politics Project is a charity which facilitates young people having the opportunity to talk with politicians and in a few weeks this group will be meeting with another local councillor from the Conservative Party.  The students asked the councillor a wide range of questions from national government to climate change.  Jonathan shared an incredibly powerful personal experience of seeing the realities of climate change and rising flood waters in Bangladesh and how this influenced him greatly to work with the Green Party.  The students learnt a great deal through this experience and are looking forward to exploring a different set of views in their next session.
