With our annual Surrey Schools’ bake off competition sadly unable to go ahead this spring, the senior school’s food and nutrition department together with Accent Catering have launched a 10 week lockdown house bake off competition. Made up of five baking-themed rounds, the challenge has begun with baking bread and will be followed by pancakes, biscuits and cakes, ending with show stopper week in true bake off style! Entries will be judged by Accent Catering, Mrs Wells and Mrs Nendick with plenty of house points and prizes up for grabs.

Not only is the competition a fantastic way to develop pupils’ culinary skills from home, it’s also an activity which requires creativity away from laptops and screens – something Claremont Fan Court School is keen to encourage during this time of increased screen time working from home.

Wishing the best of luck to all our budding bakers!
