Prep School music workshops

At the beginning of the summer term, Year 5 enjoyed an African drumming workshop and Year 4 took part in an Indonesian Gamelan workshop.  Year 5 learnt some traditional African rhythms on djembe drums and are now developing these rhythms in class.  Year 4 learnt all about the Gamelan and by the end of the workshop were able to play several complex melodies on the Gamelan instruments – including gongs!  It was so lovely to see the children playing music together again for the first time in many, many months!
