Prep School children experienced world book day from home this year, but they were just as enthused about the activities on offer. The theme was Desert Islands and an author research project highlighted the popularity of authors such as JK Rowling, David Walliams and Jill Murphy. Although, many less well heard of authors were also mentioned, thus highlighting the wide range of books our pupils enjoy reading. Pupils then had to write a short story after watching a video from author Bruno Vincent, who set the scene for pupils to allow their imaginations to run wild. The standard of writing was impressive and many stories finished with a cliff hanger, with the reader wanting more! The afternoon included desert island artwork and turning their stories into an illustrative mini book. Some pupils even dressed up for the day!
